Rila Lakes in Bulgaria Compete with the Amazon River

29.06.2008

All guests at Expo 2008 treated with mineral water

A Rila lake, crocodiles from the Nile and Amazonian piranhas compete at the water Expo 2008 in the Spanish city of Zaragoza. Some 140 countries and organizations from all over the world take part in the world expo, dedicated to the preservation of the planet's water resources.
The Bulgarian exposition attracts the interest of the visitors with a 32-meter photo of a Rila lake, in front of which one feels as if he really climbs the mountain. Several water curtains create a freshness so pleasant to the visitors searching for the coolness of water.

Exactly besides them is the window behind which an authentic replica of the Panagyurishte treasure is exposed. Huge wall-screens show the opportunities for spa tourism in Bulgaria: films about balneology, biospheric reserves and Bulgarian traditions and rituals, connected with water are screened.

The Bulgarian pavilion is unique for the fact that it's the only one whose visitors are presented with bottles of mineral water. The culinary fans can get acquainted with the Bulgarian national cuisine at a restaurant where traditional Bulgarian meals like moussaka (shepherd's pie) and Shopp salad (mixed vegetable salad with grated white cheese on top) are served.
