Stoikite

The village of Stoikite is situated in the center of the southern part of Bulgaria, in the heart of Rhodope mountain, 15km from the municipality and county center of Smolyan, 7km from the well-known mountain and ski resort Pamporovo and 5 km from the first lift-station “Malina”. Stoikite has a population of 386 inhabitants after the census in 2001. The village benefits from its nearness to Pamporovo resort and comparatively low prices of the goods. In Stoikite you could see one of the most beautiful churches in the Middle Rhodope “Sveti sveti Peter and Pavel”, the monument of the fallen soldiers and officers from Stoikite during the Balkan and World War First, built near the chapel “Sveti Spas”.Stoikite is an excellent place for summer tourism and recreation. You could choose among hiking and biking, off-road with jeep and cart spins, and those who want to visit the Trigrad Gorge with Devil’s Throat and Jagodina cave, could apply in the tourist information center in Stoikite.In the winter there is a possibility for skiing, snowboarding and ski-touring. In the center of the village there is a track for beginners. The advanced could use the winter appurtenances in resort Pamporovo. And for those, who prefer to spend their holiday in fresh air and relax, we recommend visiting the villages Gela, Stikal, Solishta, Shiroka laka and to the highest peak in the Rhodopes – Goljam Perelik(2191 m above sea level).
