The beautiful town of Chepelare lies at 1150 m of altitude, at 75 km to the South of Plovdiv and 10 km to the North of the resort Pamporovo. Pamporovo, one of Bulgaria's two main international ski resorts as well as 10 villages - Pavelsko, Hvoina, Zabardo, Malevo, Orehovo, Bogoutevo, Ostritsa, Lilekovo, Zornitsa, Progoled are located on the rest 2% of the area. Located 230 km of Sofia - the capital of Bulgaria, 80 km south of the thousand-year-old town of Plovdiv and only 10 km of Pamporovo, Chepelare has won recognition as an administrative, economical and cultural centre.

A biathlon run and a shooting range are located in Chepelare as well as a children ski tow, sports area including two tennis courts and a volleyball playground, hall for volleyball and table-tennis, indoor swimming pool, sauna, hotel. The pleasant transitional climate strongly influenced by the Aegean sea, the century-old spruce, pine and fir forests, the well developed infrastructure, recreation and entertainment facilities make Chepelare an attractive winter and summer resort. The town has the cleanest air and the highest number of sunny days in the country but despite all that sunshine; enough precipitation falls to provide the area with plenty of snow.Just 2 km away from the town there are two Alpine ski tracks, "Mechi Chal 1"(3 200 m long) and "Mechi Chal 2" (5 200 m), which are among the best ones in Europe.The 22 family hotels in Chepelare offer you accommodation at any time of the year.
